it can be suck by pooter. But not easy.
the seed still connect to mother plant, take quit amount of lung power to get them out.

The nuzzle i chose seems to be too big. Can't get in between tubercles as easy as i wish.

Ortegocactus has similar fruit, although fewer spines. Easy enough to get the seed out with patience if you don't mind losing the odd one.

The other Mammillarias with cryptic fruit tend to have poor germination. Not sure if they just take an age to ripen properly, are designed for staggered germination, or do best after being eaten or sitting inside a rotting plant for a while.

On the other hand, when I sowed commercial M. andersoniana seed, it germinated well. Probably not straight off the plant though.

Even 25% is good enough when you have plenty of your own seed. Would be disappointing from a packet of 5 seeds!
