Chalk and cheese

Post by iann »

Two different Lithops lesliei var rubrobrunnea clones, both obtained as small adults. Coincidentally, both appear to have thrips damage, which isn't common on my plants.

And two different var venteri plants, this time chosen by me from a batch of seedlings.

And three different appearances for L. julii var rouxii, although all three heads are part of the same plant.

I'm no expert on Lithops, but from reading Herald Jainta's book there is lots of variation in populations in habitat.
His view is that you can find many of the varieties/subspecies growing in the same area.

I'm 99% sure they were correct when I first posted. I've seen this happen before, possibly because I'm senile and unable to use technology, but probably because the forum software is doing something weird.

Anyway, I don't seem to be able to edit the post so we're stuck with very confusing photos for now.

A combination of the way the user applies the software and some non-intuitive software.
I've re-ordered the photos, hope I got it right?
