Early flowers?
Looks like spring flowers for this Mammillaria tetrancistra this year. I usually get them only towards the end of summer.

Re: Early flowers?
Excellent. I am giving my plants the iann summer rest this year to see if I can encourage flowers, no sign of buds so far, unusually

Re: Early flowers?
I've stopped watering now, until at least July or August. The flowers should come anyway, then hopefully another set at the end of summer. Might be the weather, might be the plant getting bigger, or might just be coincidence.Ali Baba wrote:Excellent. Re: Early flowers?
I last watered mine about ten days ago, so likewise having a rest for the summer. Usually I have visible small buds by now, but not this year for some reason

Re: Early flowers?
I have some bright red berries on mine if anyone wants them for seed. Experience required this one isn't often seen in cultivation.

Re: Early flowers?
Looks like I never followed up with a photo of the flowers. Luckily, they've been flowering again, without much help from me because I was waiting for the weather to cool a little before watering them.
These two have different-coloured buds ... ... but very similar flowers. I like the slightly paler ones.

Re: Early flowers?
I haven’t watered mine yet but I can see some signs of buds lurking beneath the spines...
