Plant ID please

Post by Tezbedz »

Hi
My friend has had this plant for at least 40 years it has now flowered and we wondered what it was. It is at least 6ft tall.
The photos are not very good due to the angle of the sun

As you can see it has now reached the ceiling in the porch does anyone have any suggestions what my friend should do?

he cuts the plants at 1m ( like this it will be a few years before having to cut again ) and disinfection of the cuttings where he cut (plants and cuttings) with alcohol at 90 or 70 °
He leaves the cuttings dry for a month in a well-lit place without direct sun before replanting them in a well drained soil with a picket to hold them in place to root

Good advice from Richaud but don't water until you see signs of roots when there will be growth, otherwise the plant will rot.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.
