Not that slow, I had flowers on my harveyi a year or two after sowing.

I should get more A. harveyi seed later in the year. I hardly ever see the flowers but ripe fruit shows up regularly. Here's a flower I did catch last year.

The flowers only last a few hours on one day, yet they do a very good job of coordinating themselves.

Oh wow! I need one! My one and only Anacampseros cf. namaquensis is doing well for years now, so Avonia should be ok to grow. Very nice!

So I put in some more A. harveyi seed, straight off the plant. The next day I had a sprout, but nothing else since. Probably more will come up but there is obviously something I'm not quite getting right. Other Avonias come up like cress.
