Well done, they look great! Do you give them any protection over winter?

I've had nine plants from a BCSS seed distribution, and they have grown to about 30cm in diameter. This last winter killed all but two (and the remaining ones don't look happy). I gave them no winter protection, but two bouts of more prolonged snow and cold finished them off sadly. I should have kept them closer to the house...
