Now all you need is a female plant and you can get started producing seeds!

I've always found they tend to mark up with time. It looks really nice, though!

...... and a strong magnifying glass. The flowers are far smaller than I thought they would be.....

It is only in a 6cm pot, so quite young I would think.

Your plant is a female, i have several plants of Obesa and Symetrica which i have had for 30 years, i also have
quite afew smaller plants which i have grown from my own seed.
When i find out which plant is a female i place a coloured label in the pot so that i know which is which, i keep
the labels in all the time. When my plants start to produce flowers i remove them from the greenhouse so i can
control the pollination, i hand pollinate the plants by just passing a childs paint brush over the males and then
touch up the female flowers with it.
When the seed pods show i keep an eye on them and when the pods start to turn brown i lay the plants on their
sides with the top section in a plastic pot so when the pods do explode i catch most of the seed.
If i want to produce more plants i sow straight away because i find Euphorbia seed is no good if not fresh.
I have been producing seed this way for years and find it very easy,
Hope this helps.

I had a packet of seeds of Euphorbia obesa from the BCSS seed pool in 2016. (Thanks Chris for your efforts, and from the original supplier (maybe jfabio?) !)

This resulted in 9 seedlings I retain today, six of which are now flowering in 2" pots. Three are more advanced and appear to be female.

Does anyone have info on the proportion of male/female obesas you might expect?

the sampling method is totally unscientific.Jude the reliability on your own.
