A not-co-common Mammillaria

Don't see Mammillaria boolii about too much. It isn't exactly a looker, but it does have nice flowers.

Maybe not as uncommon but still nice and still from the same family. And one of them from seed 2014. :grin:

Another one of the same type, M. blossfeldiana. Nice and compact, plus the big flowers.

There is also big flowers species with white flowers

My boolii unfortunately died while in storage and my guelzaniana soon afterwards. I do like the larger flowered mammillarias. Senilis is a good one as the flowers are quite large but also red, unusually for mams.

I have 2 boolii and I can't get them to flower. They often start buds but abort them or they sit there in the axils and never progress. Do you find it needs particularly hot temps or something to flower? Schumannii, fraileana, guelzowiana etc all flower fine for me.

if the buds of your boolii abort more water and fertilizer (tu)
