Over the winter this plant developed black patches. They don't seem to go very deep and the plant feels sound - but I wonder whether anybody could offer some advise on what I could do to treat this, please? I expect this will be some kind of fungal infection as it is the only plant in my collection that is affected and I read somewhere that Larryleachia can be prone to this.
Apologies for the poor quality of the pictures below!
The plant is kept on a windowsill year-round. It receives morning sun until about 11 am. I keep it with Haworthias mainly as well as a few other Stapeliads.

Red Spider Mite I'd say. Needs to be sprayed.

Do you reckon? That should be easy to remedy, hopefully...habanerocat wrote:Red Spider Mite I'd say. Needs to be sprayed.

Re: Black spots on Larryleachia
We'll never know for sure, but after not having a mealy bug in my collection for over 12 years I became complacent and fool hardy. So when the first signs of a RSM attack appeared last year I ignored them and by the time I woke up to reality this year the damage was done.Christian wrote:Do you reckon? So my attitude has changed. If in doubt spray, before it's too late.
Have a look here for current solutions.

Incidentally, the late Darrel Plowes recommended spraying Stapeliads every couple of weeks with neat meths to keep black spot away. Also has the benefit of getting rid of pests as well.

Thank you both for your responses! I have sprayed the plant against RSM and shall see whether I'll see clean growth coming through later in the season. Interesting list, btw, habanerocat!
Did you ever follow Darrel Plowes advice, Mike?

Certainly did. Haven't had black spot for 3 years now.
