Re: Shipping live plants.

I have sent a lot of plants through the post and as many here do, I wrap them with either tissues or kitchen roll, then pack them tightly in a box, usually lined with re-cycled bubble wrap(I always seem to have plenty from other packaging). There is enough plastic washing around in the oceans that I may change to just paper for wrapping, as the cardboard box seems to offer enough protection, if there is plenty of wadding.
Obsessive Crassulaceae lover, especially Aeoniums but also grow, Aloes, Agaves, Haworthias and a select number of Cacti.

Get friendly with your local pharmacist. Lots of unused wadding (both synthetic and cotton) is returned to them as patients often need less than they get prescribed. Pharmacists are not allowed (at least in the Netherlands) to sell it a second time so all of it is skipped. Skipping costs money so they are happy to give it to you.
