I am sure it will Cactus girl. This plant is easy to grow with the right conditions. A well drained compost and a deep pot to accommodate it tap root. Plenty of sun and water in Summer and kept dry during Winter. I feed it with Miracid during the growing season, but it is a slow grower. Patience is the answer lol. Cheers

Well done. Mine usually flowers too late in the year so the buds abort, but I have high hopes it will make it in time this year.

Well done, Eric. Lovely flowers - and several at once. I have had a plant of this species for a few years and until this year the buds had always aborted. However, after a re-pot last year and with the very warm summer, it has bloomed for me at last. I have given it plenty of water as this seems to be one of the prerequiesites for blooming success.

At a couple of nurseries in Europe they stand these in trays and in late spring early summer have them stood in water for a few weeks !

Not at all what we think for cacti

But it encourages the buds to form and not dry up

I have not gone that far but if the weather is good I do try to water them much more often ie up to twice a week in June and July

It works I get way more flowers now than I used to

Spoke too soon. Both my big old plant, and a smaller L. prinicipis v. trachethele were both in flower today.
My dad and I grew the old one from seed many years ago when I was at school, so its now 40+ years old. (tu)
