Sponsorship for SA Succulent Euphorbia Field Guide

FIELD GUIDE TO THE SUCCULENT EUPHORBIAS OF SOUTHERN AFRICA
by Alma Moller and Rolf Becker
Published by Briza Publications in association with the Flora & Fauna Publication Trust

This proposed new field guide will be a good addition to any plant lover’s library, more especially to those who are interested in the rich succulent flora of Southern Africa. Many of the euphorbias are difficult to identify and here is your chance to able to do so with confidence.

The Flora & Fauna Publication Trust is a well-recognised, KZN based NPO who have agreed to hold funds collected for later payments, and the authors are most grateful to them for offering us this facility. If you are not sufficiently interested in being a subscriber, sponsor or donor please consider forwarding this to others who may be interested. The authors are trying their best to get the information about this book out there. Please note that any additional monies we may collect will be used to support aspirant young people interested in succulents.

An illustrated descriptive brochure and sponsorship form can be found at:

Best wishes,
Derek Tribble

N.B. Postage cost from South Africa to other countries are high.

I was going to subscribe, but then I saw it was 2000 Rand to post the book - over £113, That seems really excessive. Sadly, I'll wait until a UK bookseller gets a stock in, presumably not paying that much per book for postage.

Surely there must be a more economical way to deliver? It does seem they are shooting themselves in the foot when the postage is twice the cost of the book.

I am sure Keith's p&p would be more reasonable, on top of £27.50. Published May 2020. Did you get a copy yet?

Monograph by Bruyns now due October 2022. Which is why I was idly looking for Euphorbias.

If you order within 2 days you can get the Succulent Euphorbiaceae of India for only £6.

The link isn't working......and just a thought, I hope it doesn't include detailed location data. There's a good chance that Euphorbia could become the next Chinese fashion and a target for poachers. Something that unfortunately all prospective new publications should be considering.

The book has been published. They aren't looking for sponsorship any more. I just bumped this ancient thread because I bumped into the book being sold by Keith and wanted to see if interested folk knew about it. See my link above.
