Cracking open
No, not Conophytums although they are cracking open, and not Lithops although I've split a couple of those too. This is Muiria hortenseae, barely dried out its old leaves even in this hot summer, but is now concentrating on the new ones. The colour really is quite pale, they'll be much darker green in the middle of winter.
