Re: BBC news website
This one is more correct. Because it hardly has any words! Just pretty pictures of the flower bloom in South Africa, mostly succulents, no cacti.

Re: BBC news website
This is true, and is something you need to be constantly aware of.gerald wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 9:40 pm Whenever I see an article in the media about something that I happen to know about, I often find it wanting in terms of bias, accuracy, detail and simple facts.
In which case when I read an article about something new or something I know little about, I have to be very careful with what to believe and what not to.

Thanks for pointing this out. It must be an age thing but I have just written to the BBC complaining about sloppy journalism and look forward to a detailed reply......or not.

Re: BBC news website
Sloppy ... shoddy .... untrue ..... misrepresentational .... Apply as many such adjectives as you wish.
1 any news is publicity and has brought it into public domain.
2 see it from the perspective of the Editor's chair ... when a two minute slot has to be filled and your environmental/science/Central American reporter is on another story and the only other reporter is .......
I agree that the material is incorrectly presented to the point of being almost a work of fiction .... but then we have the advantage of having the knowledge. They however have the advantage of having the access to the airwaves.

Re: BBC news website
Might be better to try some sort of regulator, like OFCOM or The Press Complaints Commission?

As an avid listener to Feedback I thought it would provide a good place to raise concerns.

Re: BBC news website
Maybe the BBC journalist should take lessons from the Shropshire Star.

At least this appears pretty factual...
