Three are 8 x 12 foot and one is 10 x 12 foot. These formerly housed a substantial collection of two brothers who sadly died recently. Regretably we had no prior knowledge of this collection as they were not members of the BCSS. These greenhouses, which are in good condition, are available for a donation to the family. Staging and shelving not available. Acquirers will have to dismantle and remove the greenhouses. Interested parties should contact myself at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Graham and Helen Evans and Suzanne and myself removed a substantial number of large plants from the collection last weekend. Unfortunately the plants had not been watered for some considerable time and a quite a few plants were dead. The largest specimens, including a large flowering Echinocactus grusonii and a huge Notocactus magnificus, have gone to Tom Hart-Dyke's World Garden. Others will be available for auction at Brighton and Hove branch's next meeting on Thursday September 27th (7.30pm). Note that Brighton branch has a new larger meeting place with more parking with effect from our September meeting. The full address is: The Parish Centre, South Street, Portslade Village, Portslade, East Sussex, BN41 2LE which is easily accessible from the A27.
