I'd guess that this is where Philip Barker had his pots made, the location seems to be in the right area, quantities shouldn't be a problem for nurseries or BCSS branches, I've just bought 5000 6.5cm round pots and only use square pots to help with grafting. The problem with producing BEF pots commercially is that there is not much demand outside the cactus hobby market. They're too high quality and expensive for the normal nursery trade.

I did wonder if it was the place Philip used and if they had bought the stock and moulds from his family I just couldn't see prices

Good news indeed! This range of pots has undoubtedly been produced from the moulds which the late Philip Barker owned. Several years ago, Philip had an expensive new mould produced for 6" square pots, which were not part of the original B.E.F. range from the 1970's.

Best wishes,

Maybe someone from the Manchester Branch can enlighten us as to the current state of play between the manufacturer and themselves...

The key thing about BEF pots is the plastic which goes into the mould. I think it was polypropylene, according to a thread some time ago on this topic. Possibly with UV stabiliser. If BEF moulds are used with the same plastic as standard plastic pots, then same results will follow, pots that disintegrate after a year or two. So what plastic is being used, if these are new pots being produced?

This is not good news this person contacted me with a view to offering the pots on here and through our Facebook group, when I challenged his right to do so and pointed out the moulds and rights belong to Philip Barkers estate, he broke off communication, i believe there action is being taken, but have no further information.
