Ariocarpus Scapharostris - time to repot

Post by Stuart »

This Ariocarpus Scaphoristris was originally a tiny seed-grown plant from Ken Burke many years ago. After all those years it finally has one small offset and it flowers every year. He sold almost all his plants in 2in BEF pots and grew about 80% of the plants he sold. BEF pots were the strongest pots and pretty near indestructible.

I'm beginning to feel that it's trying to tell me something.

Maybe the time has come for repotting.

At least there is not risk of rot due to overwatering, as there is hardly any soil left to be wet for a long time...

The small stuff slowly sifts out of the drainage holes, and the big bits get pushed out of the top
