these two are the biggest trio among sibling.
it did not have any visible caudex or tuber last time i repot.

From taiwan. hot humid subtropical island.
Pachypodium grow like weed here.
(not really, but u get the idea hot sunny rainy)

After 17 month it finally development some kind of caudex.
The underground stem start to swollen

I bet you are pleased they are developing the thicker root now, not meaning to be rude but Is this normal growth will they fatten up over time or just get taller ?.
I had a quick google the flowers will look very nice

it will get fatter,reaching 3 cm in diameter.
M.hofackerianus has both real tuber and caudex.
botanical tuber which have eye .
Caudex are enlarge stem or root which don't have eye.
i find this spiese very botanical interesting.Caudex and tuber are rare in cactus but she has both !

I'm not sure how old they'd have to be to reach 3cm diameter, mine are coming up for 10 years old and still barely breaking a centimeter.

This is fairly typical growth for them, fast growing, beautiful flowers, and they flower pretty much all year around on and off too.
