A nice display

Post by rodsmith »

My Conophytum scitulum is in almost full bloom this evening - just a few buds still to open. I brought it indoors as it failed to open in the conservatory yesterday. It must appreciate the extra warmth.

Very nice, Rod - any perfume? Usually the nocturnal species have a pleasant scent.

This is really nice, Rod! I very much like the colours and the pattern of this particular form.

I reckon that is an obcordellum form (ceresianum?). Scitulum is a minimum form.

Thanks all for your comments. Having looked at some photos online, Terry, I think you're right. I bought it from a branch auction several years ago and it was described as C. scitulum (minimum). I'll have to alter the label and my records. I didn't notice any scent but my sense of smell is not what it used to be. I'll check again this evening.

Your picture is appropriately titled ..... that is a nice display
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
