Sun.
So close to seeing my first Ariocarpus flower open, it is going to be a long wait for the next forecast sunny day which is five days away.Regards Keith.

A very nice plant Keith, I hope you can catch a photo when the sun appears.

I think you were there when I bought it from Stuart at the 2017 Bromley show. It is still barely bigger than a twenty pence piece and I was not expecting to see it flower for quite some time.
Regards Keith.

Stuart's plants have a good start, but you have done well, I just wish I had bought one for myself! As mentioned by Diane in another thread, I wonder if the hot conditions this year have encouraged flowering. Regards, Jean.

Re: Please can I have some more
I think Diane is right, my Turbs, Lophophoras, the Ariocarpus and a Strombocactus have all done well this year on their full sun gable end high shelf.
I made it home at about 3PM today, just as it was clouding over and was rewarded with a half open flower. I can not get over how big the flower is relative to the plant.
Regards Keith.

Lovely flower - well done to catch it before it closed. The plant looks in very good condition.
