v. Excited to see some tiny flower buds forming. Fingers crossed for some nice sunny autumn days to encourage blooms! :cool:

Tricky things aren't they, putting out buds just when there isn't enough sun for them to open. The right sunny spot, maybe inside, and good luck. I often have to wait for spring. Here are some in late November though:

Watch out for botrytis on the flower remains when they start to fade. It cab be a killer on this species and M. solisioides which both flower at the end of the season.

Two slightly different forms of hernandezii in my collection today. The form in flower came from "plantlifecactus" on eBay. The other came from an Eastern European seller and is much closer in form to my previous version of hernandezii, back when it first became available in UK.
The pots sit next to each other so get the same treatment year round.
