Does anyone else on here appreciate these? I was lucky enough to acquire an Operculicarya decaryi from a member on here and it quickly became one of my favourites.
Feel free to post some images (please!) of any specimens lurking in your greenhouses to admire.
The one that continues to elude me is the Operculicarya pachypus. The only place I can find a relatively mature specimen for sale is in Japan (Yes, I know they're a fortune!) Does anyone have any ideas of elsewhere to look please?

Visit the annual succulent fair in September at the ELK, in Blankenberge, Belgium.
Pachycaul trees as far as the eyes can see, almost.

Re: Pachycaul Trees
I have never seen a large operculicarya decaryi let alone an O.pachypus but there is a good assortment of caudex plants normally, just have to be careful as sometimes they have no roots

It was posted 'inline' and don't look any different to how it was posted, and I checked!

Re: Pachycaul Trees
Very nice Geoff, has your plant ever flowered ?, mine is bigger but I have never seen flowers I guess they are small and insignificant but it would be nice. I grew my plant from Doug & Vivi Rowland seed, they used to get some nice stuff.
I thought we were supposed to be getting a site designed by professionals weren't we ?.

Re: Pachycaul Trees
Tina and Geoff,
Are you sure that your plants have not flowered, I flowered mine when it had free root run and was not as large as yours, Geoff. The flowers are maroon and blend into the leaf colour and are on the underside of the stems, branches, twigs and arise from the same axils as the leaves. The flowers are extremely tiny.

Yes I am sure Suzanne.
Having flowered Dioscorea elephantipes and Ceraria namaquensis both having tiny flowers I always look, but none yet.

Re: Pachycaul Trees
Height of stem is 36 inches, bottom of pot to top of plant is 45 inches .
The plant is now going into hibernation so is a bit sparse and heavily pruned to induce bushiness!
Photos were placed inline !
There is something wrong with this software as I only posted two images and they are breeding.
I do not have a problem with other sites I post images to.
Have they got superior software?
