I also need to get round to relabelling most of my Rebutias as Aylosteras. But that leaves the small issue of the species names...

A few of my ariocarpus are still flowering this week, does anyone cut the spent flowers off I'm a little worried about rot getting in via the spent flowers.

I never do. Have never lost an Ariocarpus between autumn and spring, the first few months after flowering.

And I have lost them by botrytis getting onto late-season dead flowers and then spreading into the plant. If I am worried, I will bring the plant indoors for a couple of weeks until the dead remains can be pulled off. Humidity levels in greenhouses can be quite high at this time of year.
