When I raise Dinteranthus vanzlii 'Emerald' from seed I find that the 'Emerald' seedlings are often attacked by western flower thrips whereas the normal buff-coloured ones are not attacked by thrips. It might be thrips damage on yours but I am not absolutely convinced.
