I've generally found Lithops cuttings to be quite slow to put out roots. They're pretty resistant to drying out so the long wait isn't fatal, but it seems like I could do better. This year I did
I got quite a few accidental cuttings in late summer and autumn: some I just pulled the heads off cleaning them up; a few are from madly-pupping clones that tend to push off some heads in their zeal to make more. The dropped heads went into my cat litter tray along with some deliberate Conophytums cuttings and stuck under the bench. They were quite wet through October and November, humidity meant the litter didn't dry out. Last week I was rearranging for winter and everything looked very fat. The Conophytums had teeny tiny roots and the Lithops quite long roots.
I suspect a damp autumn is the best time for Lithops cuttings. I know from previous experience it is for Conophytums, which are almost impossible to rot in autumn.
