Lithops lesliei 'Fred's Redhead'

Post by iann »

This is my best attempt at 'Fred's Redhead'. It is one of three I grew from seed. The other two were reddish-brown but clearly not colour mutants. This one is nicely red at times with a strong tendency to brown out in the summer. I'm not sure how authentic it is as a cultivar, but its the closest I have. Flowered nicely a few weeks ago, just found it on my camera.

Excellent find!
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
