Tesco Cat Litter

Post by apple »

Suzanne Mace put me on to Euro car parts All Purpose Absorbent Granules as a replacement for Tesco cat litter.
Looks exactly the same to me - £6.99 for 20 ltrs .About the same per ltr as cat litter. Great for seed raising.

Sorry if I'm missing an obvious point, but is there a problem with the cat litter, or is it discontinued or something? Just wondering why we need a replacement.
First it was orchids, then, since c.2001, cacti and succulents. I'm into South African plants, mainly conos, lithops and haworthias, with a few cacti, especially 'posh' mamms, turbs and other smalls. Now it’s stapeliads as well...

Tesco cat litter is not available any more .Tesco said it had been discontinued ,maybe it's still on the shelves where you are. Forgot to mention I don't use it neat .For seed raising and small plants I use third a John Innes, a third coarse grit approx 5mm and a third Tesco cat litter or now Euro Car Parts Absorbent Granules. If you want to buy you have to go to nearest Euro Car Parts Supplier. I think it is a lot more expensive on line.

There was a separate thread a few months ago about Tesco cat litter no longer being available. This replacement seems like good news so thanks for posting.

Good to know there's a source. Even better that it's somewhere I already shop :)

Yes, I'm seeing £12.49 for 20L and that's supposedly on offer, reduced from £15.84 (although that's a suspiciously odd price). If that's truly the price, then the Seton's stuff, £15 for 30L, would be better value.
