Yes, I'm not so keen on the larger size - it doesn't work for my soil mix.

There is a sale on at the moment code is XMAS75 so if you click & collect it works out at £8.37 for 20l.
Hope that helps someone.

Looks exactly the same to me - £6.99 for 20 ltrs .About the same per ltr as cat litter. Great for seed raising.
I put a post on the Facebook group a few months ago suggesting people look at spill granules as the same product is often sold as cat litter. Some are made from virgin materials, some from waste. There has been a move to wood based cat littler over the last few decades. I used to do trials for the manufacturers when I had an indoor cat. I also see the spill granules used in industry. The quality can vary enormously. Perhaps someone could set up a list of products and their pros and cons of each brand?

I think we have only identified four products that are the hard fired pink moler clay - two sold for absorbing spills and two for use as cat litter
https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car- ... &0&cc5_717
https://www.seton.co.uk/clay-absorbent- ... tread.html
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/ ... cat-litter
https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/p ... /265235247

I have only used the two cat litters and the main difference was the size of the granules with the Tesco product being smaller - I have not opened the bag I just bought so not sure if the current Tesco cat litter is the same as previous.

Thanks Jim. I saw a decent sized bag of the round clay moler granules in Homebase today. I think it was £8. What is the going rate for the round granules?

In addition to the non-horticultural product in my previous post I should add there are large round clay pebbles often sold as Hydroleca, smaller Seramis granules sold on their own or in some ready made compost and Akadama from Japan.

I have only used Hydroleca in gravel trays and never used it in any compost, I did try Seramis when it was first available many years ago but it was much more expensive that perlite which I used to use in my mixes. It was the experiments of Ray Allcock that led me to follow his example and use cat litter instead of perlite.
