They are from,
Cactus-zhiv.com
Thanks for the link. Quite pricey, though.

These are my seedlings of Mammillaria bertholdii, sown in April 1917. I bought a grafted plant two years ago, and discovered seed pods low down on the plant, which was in bud when I received it. I can't remember how many seeds I extracted, but I'm guessing I got a germination rate of about 50%. As seen in the first photo on this thread, they were quite tall, and I subsequently lined them out in this tray thi summer. They haven't been watered for several months now, so have shrunk down a bit. Not the best photo I'm afraid!

Mamm Bertholdii has been around for longer than I realised. They seem to hang on to their seeds in the same way as Mamm Theresae, often found inside the body when grafting.

Hi Diane, they look so good, if you have chance can you post a better photo later?
I think you would say April 2017 :)

Aren't they just so cute, Diane! I so love mammillaria seedlings that show all their adult characteristics. Look forward to seeing them again as they grow up!

Might be a while, Tony, I think they are rather slow (like M. theresae).

Fairly slow - they don't grow very large obviously, so it's a bit hard to judge how fast they grow. Maybe about the same speed as M. luethyi or perhaps a bit slower. They form a huge taproot though. Deep pot needed.

Mine flowered at two years old. Unfortunately I wasn't there to see them. Only got to admire the withered flowers
