Hello all,

This is the first time that I will order seeds from the BCSS, even if I still didn't receive the journal. Anyway, I can read in the online seed list order form that payment with Paypal for abroad members is possible:

Payment may be made via PayPal using the link from the BCSS website: http://www.bcss.org.uk

However, I can't find in http://www.bcss.org.uk the BCSS Paypal account to use to pay my seeds. Can anybody help me and tell me which email address I must use to pay the seeds?

Moreover, should I wait the BCSS confirmation that the seeds I have chosen are still available to pay them or should I pay first even if some seeds may be out of stock?

I'm afraid I don't know. I've hunted around the site to find an answer for you, I suggest you ask your question again as a New Topic and maybe someone running the site will see your enquiry. Apologies that this seems so vague.

I'll be honest, despite having watched HIGNFY since forever I always assumed that publications on it were so ludicrous as to not actually be real. It wasn't until I saw Cactusworld that all those years of obscure publications were actually real. I think part the problem is as someone pointed out earlier in the thread, the quotes often seem unlikely to have come from the publication itself and they effectively just seem to use the publication as something to set the topic for quotes that are otherwise fictitious.

Do we know if the quotes were real or not, as I agree, they didn't seem to be?

As far as I could tell, just one quote was from an actual journal and the others had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

That sounds about right for the BBC. Their journalism is sloppy and biased, so it's hardly a surprise that they pretend to use real quotes in comedy shows. That said, it was still free publicity that gained the BCSS some new members so it was worth it regardless.

Goodness Rob, that is bad luck, although it's true that the post can be very slow and erratic at this time of the year. I have several relatives in NE Lincolnshire who have all received their parcels from me, not that this is a good comparison. I hope you receive your journal soon.

Hot dip galvanising is a real publication and has appeared on Have I got etc. in the past.
I guess for small specialist publications it’s almost a badge of honour to be pilloried on the programme.
