On the windowsill - cold and wet outside

Post by James Pickering »

I am always hesitant to post in this Forum because my growing conditions here in Tucson, Arizona are so different than those in the U.K. that my posts here usually seem irrelevant. But here goes:

Too cold (52F) and wet (light rain) this morning for the Pereskia portulacifolia, Arrojadoa horstiana (sensu lato) and Arrojadoa rhodantha (all rooted cuttings taken this past summer) to go outside in a balcony box - so here they are staged indoors on a south facing windowsill (an outside balcony box is barely visible to the right of the pic):

Added via Edit:

Another outside balcony box on a warmer and sunnier day:

No need to be hesitant, James! We all enjoy reading about your wonderful collection of cacti, regardless of your different location.
I have just finished reading your very thoughtful and helpful article in this month's Cactusworld, so many helpful tips for those of us not quite as able as others - many thanks!

It's great to hear from you, James. And I, too, much enjoyed your article in CactusWorld. Your plants looks super healthy!
First it was orchids, then, since c.2001, cacti and succulents. I'm into South African plants, mainly conos, lithops and haworthias, with a few cacti, especially 'posh' mamms, turbs and other smalls. Now it’s stapeliads as well...
