Re: Eriosyce esmeraldana FK795
I've got two plants that I acquired as Neoporteria esmeraldana at a branch auction a couple of years ago. They are in rather poor condition but appear to be surviving. I am puzzled, though, in comparison with fatich's plant. Mine are both solitary and covered in fluff. They haven't flowered for me so far. I assume they are the same species as I believe Neoporterias have been subsumed into Eriosyce. Judging by the amount of corking, mine are probably quite old. Comments welcome.

I put this down to the difference between growing in coastal Chile and growing in a Northern European greenhouse but I have to say neither really resemble the plants in habitat where they are pretty much flat on top and buried in the gravel.
