Until fairly recently, I've not been fussed about knowing names, but now i want to grow as much as possible outside, i obviously need to pay attention to what plants I'm buying!
Any info on the following gratefully received
These are some i have had for quite some time, most for 15 years plus, the smaller labelled ones for a few years.
1.Mammillaria of some description? has pinky flowers, this was already an old plant when i got it!
2.This has an old label that simply says Lobivia
Never had labels for these next few
3.This one I was given around 25 years ago and it was approx 10 years old then!
It's never flowered either
4.Has papery yellow flowers
These two both have off white, flushed pastel pink, large trumpet shaped flowers
5.
6.
7.This has never flowered
8.This is 'Dave' and started as the top piece, cut off an already tall specimen, and which has since grown... a lot, 3yrs growth in this photo, and has now itself had the top 2 ft chopped off, a little while after this shot was taken!
It's never flowered.
These 2 have labels
9.echinocereus rigidissimus rubispinus?
10.echinopsis subduendata?
and this lives outside, is approx 15 years old and I'm assuming is a run of the mill Agave Americana

5 Echinopsis oxygona (or possibly hybrid)
6 Echinopsis tubiflora
and the one labelled Echinopsis subdenudata is correctly named.
4 is puzzling me. It's a Notocactus which appears to be between leninghausii and warasii - I wonder if it might be Notocactus claviceps?

Thank you gents, most helpful and enlightening

Venerable old plants. Some would cerainly benefit from cutting off above the corking (brown) level, allowing the offcut to dry for a couple of weeks then popping into compost. That will produce nice, rejuvenated plants.

I'm not sure about 1 being Mamm. spinosissima, I wonder about one of the forms of Mamm. polythele
3 I think might be Ferocactus glaucescens

Re: A few Cacti to ID
I quite like the aged look more like how they would appear in habitat, so many plants are only seen as juvenile/younger examples growing on mass on greenhouse staging.

Re: A few Cacti to ID
Anyone else think 7 might be Gymnocalycium Vatteri ? Odd that it hasn't flowered.

Re: A few Cacti to ID
Yes, I agree with that, Stuart. I'm used to seeing them flatter, but it looks like it's maybe elongated a bit from some of the damage that's visible on it (or perhaps just from age).
I also agree with Mike that nr 3 is Ferocactus glaucescens.
Re: A few Cacti to ID
Thanks to everyone who has replied
So having 'Googled' images of all the suggested names, and compared as much as possible to what I have, the following list is what I now hope is correct!
plant 1. Mammillaria polythele, looks closer in my opinion than spinosissima, but hey I'm no expert
plant 2. Echinopsis/Lobivia, nothing definitive on this one
plant 3. Ferocactus glaucescens
plant 4. Eriocephala warasii ( Parodia warasii ) or possibly claviceps
plant 5. Echinopsis oxygona (or possibly hybrid)
plant 6. Echinopsis tubiflora
plant 7. Gymnocalycium Vatteri
plant 8. Trichocereus pachanoi, not convinced, Pachanoi has 5 or 6 'chubby' ribs, mine has 4 changing to 5 and they are slimmer, i thought maybe T. Peruvianus instead, but so many photos and names are contradictory!
plant 9. Echinocereus rigidissimus ssp rigidissimus ( or reichenbachii ssp castaneus )
plant 10. Echinopsis subdenudata
