Re: Small opuntia type ID help please
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I don't think there is a suggestion that NO-ONE looks. Just wondering whether more would look (with increased enjoyment and educational benefit) if all the traffic went through fewer forums.
I can see pros and cons but I think the hobby is fragile and dividing the groups up does not help. Just my view.

Re: Small opuntia type ID help please
It is significant that the Small Opuntias group is the only one to have its own cactus subgroup of the greenhouse. This seems to me an anomaly (as does the Haworthia Soc similar situation re other succulents). I agree with David.D^L wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 11:16 am I don't think there is a suggestion that NO-ONE looks. This was discussed a while ago. It seems certain interests held sway, but, IMO, these two subdivisions should be axed.

Ok up to 55 now so it is obviously viewed. Late New Years resolution is to post more on it.

Thanks for the link, Tony. I think it demonstrates there is a broad spectrum of views!☺ Good thing.
