Cactus flowering periods

Post by ragamala »

Interesting to see how long cactus flowering periods can extend - all year round, in fact

according to Haage "Cacti and Succulents" English edition 1963

I would expect to have at least one species of Turbinicarpus in flower pretty much 12 months of the year.

Thanks for the information. Again it may be subject to interpretation .... but to a novice .... it's a starting point.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I agree, but Turbinicarpus is a much bigger genus today than it was in the early '60s
Thanks for the scans, interesting!
