Re: Seeds Sown
In my first round of sowing the BCSS seeds, my Lithops didn't germinate straight away in the baggies at the conservatory 10 to 15 ish degrees. So I put them in a propagator. One pack germinated and the other two are now slowly following. I took the first lot out of the baggie and they are in the conservatory. Did I do right? Should I mist or water or what?
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

WOW is right Ralph, well done!
Thanks for a visual of your propagator,
I do like growing from seed, it allows me to kill some plants while learning how go grow the others,

Re: Seeds Sown
I did the baggie thing again, and of course the Lithops germinated in a few days, but then when you take them out the surface dries out very fast. I will go back to the high humidity and some turface next time.
I also had great germination of Dinteranthus, but they are so small I am keeping them in the bag and keeping an eye on them.
Let us all know when you see Mesa Gardens post their new list!

Re: Seeds Sown
Wow, that was quick. The first seeds have already germinated, in under 2 days!

Re: Seeds Sown
And for those of you who wanted a look at how my seedlings from last year are doing, here are two pictures, showing some of the faster ones in my collection, and some of the slower ones, coming along for swapping.

Re: Seeds Sown
Thanks, Nick. And I can say the same about Nick's plants. I've always been delighted with what he sends out when he makes his offers on the forum.

Re: Seeds Sown
How come your seedlings are so big!? Mine from last year look like miniature compared to yours!

Re: Seeds Sown
Mine really shot up after being put into adult plant compost, and plenty of light and fresh air.
I also water my plants with (weak) Ericaceous Miracle Grow.
