A pair of photos, taken 4 May 2014 and today, 9 Mar 2019. Not all scorch grows out so well as it has here but scorching's certainly not a reason to get rid of a plant. Rebutia mentosa ssp purpurea:

Now that is impressive Phil. I have to say I tend to compost them if they are that badly damaged but will think again in the future. Note to self: remember to apply the summer cloud before the start of May this year.

Damp damaged Echinocactus grusonii

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

A more extreme example from the same incident, when I left all the windows shut after a frosty night that was followed by a blazingly sunny day. It was more of a cooking than a scorching. I did kill many plants but this wasn't one of them. Photos 4 May 14, 16 May 15 and 10 Mar 19. The burnt bits are still visible but not very noticeable in the grand scheme of things.
