My Turbinicarpus valdezianus was covered in buds and I actually got to catch the flowers, shame my other plant only had one old flower as it would be nice to get seed.
This is a plant I grew from Doug & Vivi rowland seed sown in 2003, its a large Turbinicarpus lophoroides- supposedly difficult to grow but luckily it doesn't know that Turbinicarpus time
