I.D. needed, please. Solved
I've had this cactus for around a year and I've never managed to I.D. it. I'm assuming Mammillaria. It's blooming with a sort of frayed petal flower, but I'm still none the wiser. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: I.D. needed, please.
I have a M. decipiens and the spination is a little different on this one. It has a single spine per areole. The body is also different, with M. decipiens being almost barrel type, and this one is sort of columnar clumping, if that makes sense.

Re: I.D. needed, please.
I think it might be M.painteri monstruosa rather than M. decipiens.

I've never had a definite name for it but I've sold it as M.Painteri monstrose which seems to be the name used in the nursery trade. it is in flower throughout the summer.

Many thanks, Chris and Stuart! I do believe M. painteri is spot on. Much appreciated!
