A couple of mesembs

Post by Diane »

A couple of nice mesembs in flower at the moment - these are propagations from an old clump that dried up of Gibbeaum heathii from Kalkgat, originally grown from Mesa Garden seed, a small form:
Gibbaeum heathii
Gibbaeum heathii
and Cheiridopsis umbrosa, a weird little plant that seems to appreciate shade - hence the specific epithet, and is largely neglected by me:
Cheiridopsis umbrosa
Cheiridopsis umbrosa

Benign neglect(?)
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Kalkgat seems a more likely locality. Could be a typing error on this forum, or one on your label. The latter you might like to change.
