All systems go!
The greenhouse is full of cacti coming in to flower right now, and I was very pleased to see this single-headed Mammillaria luethyi in flower today. I have a few more, just slightly behind, so hopefully, some pollination will be done soon:
And a large clump of Mammillaria schwarzii doing its stuff. This is a very old plant, and has a reputation of being a bit touchy, so I'm always glad when it survives winter:

Beautiful plants Diane. That Mammillaria luethyi is stunning! Definitely on my wanted list but I’m yet to find one!

Excellent as ever, Diane. I do find luethyi difficult, but not schwarzii. Maybe it thrives on neglect!! I bought a couple of M. luethyi seedling on own roots last autumn, and at least they have survived the winter, so I may hope.

Seeds are not hard to find, and not that very expensive anymore (depending on your source). Seed grown plants will be tougher and more adapted to your way of growing. And you will get multiple plants, if you do the job well.

Re: All systems go!
I got an M. luethyi on its own roots from
https://www.cactusloft.com/en/shop/
Their plants aren't cheap, but they are good, and I 've had several nice plants from them.
This was after trying to grow grafted ones more than once, and finding they just dry up. An ungrafted one seems easier...

Re: All systems go!
A few more today - a pair of Mammillaria napina the left one is 20 years old, and the right one is 16 years old. Not the easiest to grow, and can be temperamental with regards to flowering, it needs water when in bud, but can rot from over watering:
A pair of Mammillaria herrerae, another I find temperamental to flower - the left one is 15 years old, the right one a plant I bought about 5 years ago:
finally, a grafted Mammillaria bertholdii, this suffered a bad RSM attack a couple of years ago, recovered well after treatment, and produced four offsets - lovely flower!
