How many seed have you sown? Just wondering about germination ratio...

I was wondering the same, Antun. I have had very poor results with seed. They are looking really good, though!

If i remember right i have sown around 40 seeds, some of them died because of fungi. Now 23 seedlings in the pot.
Germination rate was high %95, a few seeds didnt germinate.

Update after 5 months
They growed a little both by size and spines.
As long as they grow healthy no matter how slow they are.:)

Do you do any germination treatments, like chipping the testa, scarification, cold treatment, treatment with gibberelins or acid? Looks excellent germination rates!

Hi David,
Yes i chipped each seed, most of them germinated around one week. I kept the bag fully closed until all of the seeds germinate and than gradually opened the bag.

I covered them with crushed lava stone.

They grow slow but they have developed nice spines so far.
