Super photos on this thread. I've just edited my post as I had wrongly named Huernia campanulata as clavigera, but can't seem to be able to edit the name on the photo.

Mike, I believe you are now growing them all in cat litter (saw you had mentioned it on another forum). How is this working out for you, any problems? It makes sense, I suppose, as they so readily root in cat litter, and develop a decent root system. I think I'm going to have to try this, to try to prevent the root loss that invariably happens. Do you need to water more frequently? And feed with every watering? I might give it a go with some cuttings that are rooting now, and see how they go.

Diane, so far so good with most growing happily. A small handful are still undecided but unfortunately that includes Tavaresia and Edithcolea but as they were only repotted in March I suspect it's just the roots getting used to a different environment.

Yes, the early and late season problem of pots drying convinced me to change.

At the moment with reasonably sunny weather they are watered and fed weekly which seems to work well.

Further reports to follow..

Ah, just one problem. They are on a a shelf and watering means the water runs straight through and drenches everything underneath.

I now put them into big bowls to water then put them back on the shelf.

Incidentally half my grass Aloe seedlings are in cat litter. Not much to choose so far between them and ordinary compost.

Thanks Mike, most of mine are in a large gravel tray, which I flood quite regularly (although sometimes I water individually).

Yes, I wondered about Edithcolea, I have a couple of small rooted cuttings, a seedling, and a larger plant that has just lost its roots (sigh...) and wondered whether to try these, so some pondering to do.
