Flowering Today

Post by cactuspip »

Got a nice surprise just now. This caught my eye when I went in my greenhouse.

It is Matucana (Oreodoxa) Rebutiflora. Clear to see where the specific name come from.

Another plant for the wish list
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

A very interesting plant and flower, don't think I've ever come across it before. The flower certainly is like a Rebutia flower.
