Bubble wrap - any modern replacement?

Post by Chris in Leeds »

I replaced my bubble wrap last year with what was sold as uv stabilised bubble wrap and it is falling to bits already is there anything around to use instead for shading/warmth ?

The problem with polythene sheeting, with or without bubbles, is that there is nothing on it to indicate what it is. I think that you might have been conned into paying extra for material that wasn't UV stabilised. My experience is that stabilised polythene will last a minimum of 5-6 years whereas the ordinary types are disintegrating within two years.

I use twin wall polycarbonate.
I’m happy with the results and leave it installed all year.
It may not be perfect to do this but it works for me
