This is the Standard E. rigidissimus ssp.rigidissimus also in bud awaiting sunshine. This plant was bought from Forum member Mal H back in October 2013.

These are two forms of E. fitchii, the two smaller plants on the left and centre are Echinocereus fitchii ssp.fitchii SB 861 from Webb Co. Texas which I grew from seed I had bought from Kakteen-Haage and were sown 15/3/2014 and the larger plant on the right is Echinocereus fitchii ssp. albertii which I have no data for, I bought it at the North West Cactus Mart 6/5/2017, I will post pictures of flowers if they open.

You want pictures then pictures you have .
The two forms of E. fitchii shown above in this thread, really do have scruffy flowers, but the first photo is another close realative E. reichenbachii ssp. baileyi .

Back to E. rigidissimus rubispinus, here are a couple of my 3-year-old seedlings, which I assume are what has been referred to as the more normal colouration.

Nice seedlings/plants ragamala, yes they are the normal colour for this species, only collection No. Lau 088 seems to have the intense red colour and a more rounded body shape.

They are quite long lasting plants, but lose their redness after 25years though. Bees love the flowers, at least this one did. LoL. Ps perhaps it's not a bee ?. Sorry about forums orientation probs. flower colour is ok though lol. Cheers
