Strombocactus disciformis VB15

Post by sechjoh »

I have grown these two plants from seeds I sowed in January 2008. They grow very slowly ...
They got a little damaged by the sun last year, unfortunately

Well the flowers look nice, shame they didn't both flower together, it would have been nice to start the next generation.
They are very small seeds, like dust

And they are often self-fertile, so you don't need two...

Impressive Ralph, how big was it when you got it?
Mine is tiny, I only got it a couple of years ago and each summer it has rewarded my with more flowers than you would expect from such a small plant. I would say here's to the next thirty years... agh I'll be in my eighties.

Hard to remember exactly, but probably about the same size as Christer's now - perhaps 5 years old or so?

It puts on a really good show of flowers most years. This is its second lot of buds this year.
