Plant ID please - possible Gymnocalycium

I bought this at the weekend but lost the label in transit.
Yes a silly thing to do but so possible when you transfer stuff from one car to another.
I think I bought a Gymnocalycium - but which one?
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Did it have a pink flower? Doesn't look like a gymno to me - more like Thelocactus, possibly T. bicolor.

@Diane - flower seems to have terminated so the colour is unknown. I'll try to peel it back to see. It was bought from the Gymnocalycium bench - but my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be.

It's a Gymnocalycium. Looks like it has yellow flowers, so perhaps a somewhat dry G. leeanum. I say dry because that species usually has a more open body with shorter and a bit more pectinate spines than this clone, but if the plant has gone a while without water it could have shrunk a bit, giving the impression of a more fierce spination.

G. leeanum offsets readily and I see a few small offsets on your plant too, so off the top of my head G. leeanum would be my guess.

@Diane ... it looks like a white .. cream ... yellow flower but now very much shrunken since I took the photo.
@KarlR ... yes it is very dry and my first thought was leeanum but the body confused me .... so I will water it once the weather improves.

Yea, based on the shape and position of the bud it looks like a Thelocactus to me also.

I'd say it is a Gymnocalycium too. Probably leeanum as mentioned above by Karl.
