So that hair isn't all there to keep it warm, then. How cold do you let it go in winter?

Water retention, I guess. It is very xeric for a leafy succulent. I keep it indoors in winter. It has certainly been below 10C on occasion, but it tends to shed stems if it isn't kept warm and growing.
