One of my normal looking Euphorbia Meloformis grew too large for its 12 inch pot so i took afew offsets off it,
when they had rooted i noticed one of them had offsets growing on the end of what i took to be flower stalks.
I grow quite alot of Meloformis but i have never seen this before.

I grew a couple of these for many years, but never saw this happen; I can't recall them offsetting very much either. Nice plants.

Hi Brian
I have seen it on a euphorbia gorgonis but you wouldn't really expect it on a meloformis, lovely parent plant not sure about the mutant

I've seen this happen on E. enopla and at least one other (horrida I think). Since those spikes are really modified stems or branches, it is maybe not entirely surprising that one occasionally sprouts a 'regular' stem (flowers appear at the end of those stems as well).

I can't find the gorgonis but here is my annual Astrophytum caput medusae sacrificial plant, I buy one every year at ELK this one is doing well soo far but there is always winter :???: .
It has an offset on one of the leaves or tubercles (?) on the left.
